Shaheed Mangal Pandey Government Girls PG College is situated at the pious revolutionary land known as ‘Kranti Dhara’ of Meerut City. It possess a grand premises in the prime location of the city, close to Delhi Bypass Road just opposite to Transport Nagar, Meerut. The connectivity to the college campus becomes absolutely easy and smooth as the public transportation services are pretty good and the college campus is just at few metres distance from the main road.
It’s a matter of great pride that our college has been named after the great freedom fighter’s name, i.e., ‘Shaheed Mangal Pandey Government Girls PG College, Madhavpuram, Meerut’. The most Mighty & Valorous Mangal Pandey; who sacrificed his life so as to achieve freedom for the nation. His efforts played an important role in igniting the First War of Indian Independence in 1857. He is and will always be in all of ours’ hearts and minds as a brave legend ‘Shaheed Mangal Pandey’.
Our college was established in 1999; which initially conducted eight UG Courses affiliated with Choudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut. In the present scenario, the college is successfully running UG & PG Courses in Arts, Science and Commerce faculties. Ph.D programmes are also running under different faculties comprising of various subjects at a massive scale. The professional course, B.Ed (Teacher Education) of two years duration is also being offered by the college, which is run parallel with the conventional courses in an extreme smooth capacity.
Our college is recognised by the UGC under Section 2(f) and Section 12(B) in 2002. NAAC Accreditation team visited our college in 2016 and certified us with B+ Grade (2.61).
The college faculty and administration is completely dedicated towards girls’ holistic education inculcating moral and ethical values into each student so as to provide a strong backbone to the nation in the form of well-prepared and motivated girl youth.
The college is equipped with well-furnished infrastructure and amenities required to provide a worthy environment for qualitative Teaching and Learning. As the nature’s beauty is the first teacher, henceforth, the campus is beautified and taken care of, by trimming the trees, pampering the flowers, plantation drives and cleaning it in totality. The formula of minimum sources but maximum utility has guided us to keep the ground maintained for sports activities, annual functions, national seminars, refined laboratories, automated library, audio-video teaching aids, functional smart class, well-furnished seminar hall, computer lab and a gym for the girl students; all the parameters have been worked upon with utmost honesty joining hands together (teachers & students collaboratively) to develop the students’ overall personality.
The college is rich to have highly qualified faculty members, selected from Public Service Commission, UP. The academic staff leaves no stone unturned to polish, train, decorate and develop the girl students to prepare them as an all-round strong, intellectual & mature personality in every walk of life.
The office staff too is recruited through UP Government which is completely dedicated towards their duties taking care of all the government rules and regulations on priority.
The principal, head of the academics & administrative arena leads the entire functioning in the most effective manner under her able guidance so as to bring uncountable decorative feathers of success and achievements to the cap of the college. Her sincere, dedicated and experienced self keeps motivating and prompting the faculty and office staff members to take up their responsibilities in a way to contribute their services for the upliftment of the college along with continuous self upgradation.
